Prime Minister Albanese, Premier Cooke and Minister King travelled to Kununurra in early January announcing funding for the northern regions and specifically upgrades to the licensing of Wyndham Port, giving it First Point of Entry status (FPOE). They also announced over $30M in community projects for the town of Wyndham.

FPOE allows international shipping through Wyndham port meaning direct shipping to and from international markets rather than having to transit through Darwin of Fremantle - significantly beneficial for miners and farmers alike, for the region and for the state as a whole.

For the RareX Cummins Range project, as well as regional mineral developments in the area and along the Tanami Road (itself undergoing a significant upgrade to a sealed highway), this represents another significant supply chain de-risking step as RareX pushes to engineer a phosphate stand-alone start-up for what remains Australia's largest undeveloped rare earth project.

RareX has worked collaboratively with regional mineral developers in supporting efforts for the granting of FPOE with State and Federal government and representative bodies including MCA and AMEC as well as the Kimberly Port Authority (KPA) to present the case for Wyndham port.

RareX sees Wyndham Port as highly strategic and with connection to hydro electric power as well as significant real estate for development. RareX maintains a land option adjacent to the mineral loading facility upon which RareX has an infrastructure sharing agreement with KMG.
